GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN MASYARAKAT TENTANG PEMAKAIAN GIGI TIRUAN DI DESA PASURUAN KECAMATAN PENENGAHAN LAMPUNG SELATAN TAHUN 2023

ABSTRACK

Dentures function to replace missing teeth in order to obtain the functions of mastication, esthetics, speech, and maintain the remaining tissue. In the preliminary survey activities in Pasuruan village, Penengahan sub-district, South Lampung, it was shown that 16.67% of the people wore dentures and as many as 83.33% had experienced tooth loss but did not wear dentures.
The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge and understanding of the community about the use of dentures in Pasuruan Village, Penengahan District, South Lampung.
This research is a descriptive research in the form of a questionnaire using univariate analysis. The sample is 100 respondents from the Pasuruan village community aged 30-60 years using simple random sampling technique.
Results, the level of public knowledge about the use of dentures with a good category 78%, moderate 5%, less 17%. In conclusion, the level of public knowledge about the use of dentures is on average good, namely 78%, but the awareness and desire of the community itself is still lacking regarding the use of dentures. The understanding of the community is influenced by the character of the community's high education, the types of work that vary and the age that has experienced more tooth loss. Suggestion, conduct outreach to the community by utilizing social media, conduct outreach to villages in the area with a wider network.
