Abstract
ABSTRAK
According to Basic Health Research (RISKESDAS) data in 2021, only 52.5% or only half of the 2.3 million babies aged less than six months are receiving exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia, or a decrease of 12% from the 2019 figure. early breastfeeding initiation (IMD) also decreased from 58.2% in 2019 to 48.6% in 2021. From the pre-survey at PMB Elfi Yanti, S.Tr.Keb Kalianda, South Lampung, there were in January-April there were 15 post partum mothers who had difficulty breastfeeding as many as 9 people (60%). Therefore it can be formulated the problem of how to apply attachment techniques for successful breastfeeding in post partum mothers.
The purpose of carrying out midwifery care for Mrs. Z at PMB Elfi Yanti, S.Tr. Keb is to increase the success of breastfeeding with good and correct latch technique.
The method used is a case study with Varney's 7-step midwifery management in the form of SOAP documentation. The care provided starts from assessment, education, to evaluation of the success of breastfeeding with good and correct latch technique. Care for Mrs. Z carried out for 6 days accompanied.
Based on the results, after caring for the application of the breastfeeding attachment technique for 6 days, there was knowledge of the mother regarding the correct latching technique so that a lot of milk flowed and could prevent sore nipples. Signs of adequacy of breast milk in infants are BAK 6-8x a day, BAK 2x a day, BB increases, Babies suckle 6-12x a day, and babies look calm. It can be concluded that the application of good and correct breastfeeding attachment techniques can support successful breastfeeding.
