According to the Minister of Manpower in 2011 the NAB of noise is set at 85 decibel A (dBA) with a long exposure of 8 hours per day. The impact of noise can be divided into auditory and non-auditory. Impact auditory is the direct impact of noise on hearing while the impact of noise non-auditory is a follow-up effect due to the ear always being exposed to continuous noise at work. The Dental Engineering Laboratory is an educational laboratory which is engaged in the manufacture of dentures that have high noise intensity. The purpose of writing this Final Project Report is to describe the noise that occurs in the Dental Technician Laboratory of the Tanjungkarang Health Polytechnic. This study used a descriptive method using research instruments in the form of tools Sound Level Meter (SLM) with direct measurements and observation sheets in the form of checklist. The results obtained in this study are an overview of noise in the Dental Technician Laboratory with noise levels that exceed the noise threshold, namely the acrylic laboratory (88.8 dBa), the metal laboratory (88.0 dBa), and the porcelain/ceramic laboratory (87.5 dBa). Noise that does not exceed the threshold only occurs in the basic laboratory (84.2 dBa). The type of noise that occurs in each laboratory is continuous noise which is noise that occurs continuously for a certain period of time. AV - restricted ER -
