Mastitis that is not treated immediately can lead to a breast abscess.Signs and symptoms that are always present are breast tenderness and swelling on the 3-5th postpartum day.The purpose of the care provided is to provide midwifery care by applying the technique of dealing with breast milk dams with cold cabbage leaf compresses to Mrs. N P1A0 at PMB Siti Rusmiati, S.ST South Lampung. The method used in this care is to use the varney step obstetric management and documented in the form of SOAP. The application of midwifery care starts from assessment to management using cold cabbage compresses given to the mother's breast for 30 minutes or until the cabbage leaves wilt and is carried out twice a day for 4 days. Then an assessment is carried out using the Six Point Engorgement Scale. The results obtained from giving cold cabbage leaf compresses to mothers who experience breast milk dams can reduce swelling in the mother's breasts with a scale of 4 to a scale of 1.The conclusion is that the cold cabbage leaf compress technique routinely can overcome breast milk dams. On this basis, the authors suggest that health workers, especially midwives, can provide counseling and apply cold cabbage leaf compresses to postpartum mothers with breast milk dams.
